Siapakah Juru X-Ray ????

Seorang Juru X-ray adalah seorang Ahli Teknikal yang dilatihkan untuk mengendalikan radiografi (Mengambil gambar x-ray, menjalankan peralatan X-ray yang terbaru, perlindungan radiasi dan lain-lain). Mereka mengendalikan alat X-ray dan bekerja rapat dengan pesakit serta Pakar Radiologi. Mereka juga biasanya orang yang pertama si pesakit akan bertemu apabila mereka memasuki Bilik Pemeriksaan X-ray. Mereka adalah asas pasukan perubatan dan menjadi pembantu kepada pakar radiologi. Juru X-ray dilatih untuk mengesyorkan imej yang didapati adalah pada mutu terbaik dengan mengendalikan alat itu serta kedudukan pesakit. Juru X-ray juga terlibat dalam penyediaan media kontras yang diberikan kepada pesakit yang terlibat dalam pemeriksaan khas radiologi. Juru X-ray menjalankan peralatan umum X-ray dan juga mesin skan MRI dan CT. Mereka juga menjalankan serta bertanggung jawab bagi X-ray yang dijalankan di wad, teater pembedahan serta bahagian kasualti/kemalangan yang menggunakan alat X-ray bergerak. Juru X-ray juga boleh memilih untuk berlatih dalam bidang mengoperasi mesin dalam bahagian X-ray dan menjadi Ahli Terapi Radiasi.

Di Malaysia, untuk layak berlatih dalam program latihan X-ray, seseorang calon memerlukan sekurang-kurangnya Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). Latihan ini berlangsung selama 3 tahun. Kursus ini terdiri daripada teori, latihan praktikal dan klinikal di sebuah hospital yang dilengkapi peralatan X-ray yang moden sebelum mengambil peperiksaan akhir.

Terdapat penambahan dalam latihan juru X-ray - dengan wujudnya sarjana muda sains pengimejan serta sarjana dalam pengimejan perubatan.

Pernah Kerja kat KK, selalu juga 'order' dan 'buat' sendiri simple X-ray, pastu kena 'interprete' sendiri, dan rawat sendiri..last-last kena rujuk juga hospital...

Dear radiographer

Correct me if iam wrong to say that most of the qualified radiographer may have some confusion on Assistant Medical Officers(AMO) role and job specifications in health clinics. It has come to my attention that I have been told that we AMOs are not allow to order X rays and it has to be counter sign by a medical officer and the reason were given verbally is that radiographer were being warned by radiologists that they do not work for AMOs if Xray that were ordered by AMO are send for reporting? According to the blue book issue by the KKM on Tugas dan Tanggungjawab Pembantu Perubatan dated 1981 state that AMOs are allow to order X rays on behalf of Medical officer. Guys we were trained to diagnose and treat medical and simple surgical diseases and to support our diagnosis we need to order some test be it lab tests or radiology studies and if because of your ignorance or rather ego on our job scope that were govern by medical act,
by saying we cannot do this, it is like you are taking away the spoons that feeds us. We are not stupid, we are trained on its indications and knows about its complications and benefit prior ordering an x-rays. Don't tell us what to do. Do your job. Do you feel inferior because we AMO U29 "order" you to take xrays. For your information plain x -rays are widely order throught in Malaysia and has become a norm in America to order CT scan as if they are popping panadols even for the simplest injury. So why some radiographer so afraid to take x rays on a child, fearing of the radioactive exposure?.Don't interfere with our job in helping patients. You guys are only trained in radiographing but we are trained in medicine similar to a Medical officer.

for me..i just do my work n if they(radiographer) refused to do it..pass it..
and if anything happend,im not going to answer any single question..

kat sini guna cr..so slalu kalau buat cxr dewasa film 14x17..tapi aku slalu print pakai film 10x12..wakakakaa...dr tu siap mai tanya aku ni budak2 punya x-ray ataupun org tua??

then ada jugak yg suka order berulang2 kali walaupun terang2 dah nampak #....utk memudahkan keja aku print je la yg dah buat memula tadi...cuma adjust contrast ja bg nampak different..hehehheheh...nak order sangat...amik laa....
